Welcome to JourneyRock UK
This website was initially created as a petition to encourage the UK promoters to bring Journey to the UK and Europe. Given that the band toured the UK in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, it was decided that UK and European fans might want to continue with the friendships forged through this site. We are looking forward to making 2012 another rocking year for Journey.

JOURNEY’s Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain And Former Singer Steve Perry Explore ‘80s Classic Frontiers ‘InTheStudio’
Dallas, TX - FEBRUARY 27, 2013. North American syndicated Rock radio show InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the 30th anniversary of Journey’s ‘80s blockbuster album Frontiers. Having come off their biggest album to date, Escape, Journey were firing on all cylinders and proved once again why they owned the rock/pop musical throne in 1983. Frontiers would produce four massive hits “Separate Ways”, “Send Her My Love”, “Faithfully” and “After the Fall” and go on to be a top seller too.
Jonathan Cain boldly shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard what he believes Frontiers represented for the band.
“ We were a rock and roll orchestra, and there are not many of them that can soar and play complex music. Frontiers was a fairly ambitious record musically, probably our most ambitious record.”
Steve Perry remembers the effects that stardom and relentless touring had on the band’s personal lives.
“There was so much division going on amongst the relationships of people and their wives. Two of the members were not going to make it with their wives. I could see divorce coming. It was tough. It was HARD.”

"Journey and Whitesnake, along with special guests Thunder, are set to appear onstage together for the first time ever in May 2013, taking in eight dates across the UK. Tickets go on sale 10am on Friday 9th November priced at 45 (regionally) & 48.50 (London) (subject to booking fee) and are available from www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
Journey's Neal Schon said of the tour: "Looking forward to getting back to the UK and playing our best for you all. You guys are the very best, cheers and see you soon. We will be rocking!"
Co-headlining the 2013 tour are the legendary Whitesnake who carry a rightful & righteous reputation as one of the world's leading rock'n'roll bands. Founded and formed by Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, the band have earned multi-platinum albums and multiple top 10 hits worldwide, including 2 number 1 singles with 'Here I Go Again' and 'Is This Love' as well as the unforgettable hammer of 'Still Of The Night'. Bombast, bravado, talent and passion have helped establish Whitesnake as the perennial platinum favourite they have become and they're back with a vengeance in 2013, with plans to release a live DVD ahead of the tour as well as a double album. "Unfinished business..."as Coverdale says slyly. "We all wanted the last tour to continue as we got closer to the end...After a year in the studio we're ready to rock on stage again...We're coming back for more..."
Harnessing Coverdale's blues and soul roots & fueled by incendiary guitarists Doug Aldrich & Reb Beach you have all the elements needed to shape the 'Snake's hard rock identity.
Special guests Thunder will also be joining the UK dates. In 2009 the band went their separate ways, only to return in 2011 for a triumphant live performance at the High Voltage festival in London, followed by 2 sell out Christmas shows. Thunder returned for another 2 sell-out Christmas shows in 2012, with the date first selling out in just 6 hours. The band has been lured back on to the stage for next year's tour with Journey and Whitesnake. Perhaps this could re-ignite their desire for more.
Singer Danny Bowes says: "We'd already discussed possibly doing some shows next year, so this is perfect, and it's a great bill, like they used to be back in the day, it'll be a brilliant night out". "

Neal Schon proposed to Michaele Salahi
Neal proposed to his girlfriend Michaele Salahi on stage during the band’s benefit concert in Baltimore, Md. last night (Oct. 14). The former reality show star tearfully and joyfully agreed to be his wife.
This being 2012, the whole proposal was captured on video by multiple concert goers, giving us all the chance to watch the honestly sweet moment as a man who has performed in front of literally millions of people night after night temporarily can’t remember how to get on one knee, or speak without his voice breaking as he proposes to his beloved. Congratulations!
Captured on video, watch it here on the Ultimate Classic Rock Webpage
Congratulation to Neal and Michaela

Ultimate Classic Rock report in an interview with Neal......"Neal Schon Hopes for ‘Friendly’ Communication with Steve Perry"
Nearly 15 years after Journey made ‘Trial By Fire,’ the 1996 studio album which came as a result of a short-lived reunion with original lead singer Steve Perry, it’s still a frequent question – will Perry ever come back?

Neal Schon Open to Reuniting with Steve Perry for Journey Farewell Tour
Could Journey be calling it quits? Maybe not, according to guitarist Neal Schon, but he’s definitely had thoughts about how he wants to go out on a sustained high note. In a new interview, he reveals that he’s open to having former lead singer Steve Perry join them band for one last go-round.
“I can’t talk about the future because I don’t have a crystal ball,” Schon told Classic Rock. “But I can say that if Steve Perry wanted to come back and do some kind of reunion tour, I think it would have to be in a time zone when we are feeling like we’re done.”
That said, Schon isn’t looking to hang up his rock n’ roll shoes any time soon. I don’t see that happening for a long time,” he continued. “Honestly, we have a lot of life left in this band. But if we were to do a farewell tour, then I would reach out to him — and some of the earlier members of the band. I’d try to get that family type tour together.”
Schon also said that current lead singer Arnel Pineda would not have a problem with the idea of Perry sitting in with his old band. Based on Perry’s recent comments on the relationship between himself and Schon, it seems Pineda’s not in much danger.

R.I.P. George Marino
Journey's engineer on 'Frontiers'
George Marino, who mastered hundreds of albums in a career of nearly 40 years at New York’s famed Sterling Sound studio, passed away today. Marino died following a year-long bout with lung cancer.
“Today Sterling Sound and the music industry as a whole has suffered a tremendous loss,” Sterling Sound issued via statement. “Senior Mastering Engineer George Marino lost his battle with cancer this morning. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel. George was family to us all and we will miss him dearly.”
Although not a household name, Marino worked on albums that should be a part of everybody’s music collection. Metallica‘s ‘Black Album,’ Stevie Wonder’s ‘Innervisions,’ AC/DC‘s ‘Back In Black,’ Guns N’ Roses‘ ‘Appetite for Destruction,’ Bon Jovi’s ‘Slippery When Wet,’ Journey‘s ‘Frontiers,’ Motley Crue‘s ‘Dr. Feelgood,’ Kansas‘ ‘Point of Know Return’ and many others benefited from his expertise in the mastering stage.
Marino joined Sterling Sound in 1973 after a few years at the Record Plant. He began his career in 1967 as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios before moving on to the mastering department. He won three Grammy awards, most recently in 2011 for Arcade Fire‘s ‘The Suburbs,’ which won Album of the Year.

Neal Schon Reveals Plans For Two New Solo Albums
As Schon told Ultimate Classic Rock during an interview this past weekend, the two albums, including one that reunites him with his former Journey bandmate, drummer Steve Smith, are very different. Schon calls the album he made with Smith “one of the most rockin’ records I’ve made.”
“I’m proud of the record, but I kind of winged it. I walked in and I didn’t have anything prepared at all. I just had an open slate with a bunch of paintbrushes [in the form of] guitars and amplifiers.”

At Last: News of Steve Perry
According to Billboard - The former Journey frontman will start work in his new studio very soon
Perry tells Billboard magazine that he's just finished building a new studio in his California home which he says will have a control room and "a tracking room about the size of Motown."
"I'm finishing that room up and I've written a whole bunch of ideas and directions, all over the map, in the last two, three years," he added, although he won't be drawn on a timescale. "I don't want it to have pressure because I'll worry about it sucking, and then what am I gonna do? I've got all this pressure... that I just don't want on me, so I've allowed myself the ability to sketch and write as I go, and I'll do it at my own pace."
In the interview, he also talks about performing live ("I'm no spring chicken") and about the possibility of reuniting with Journey for a one-off performance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, if the band were ever to be inducted.
"I'm not a big fan of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's just a personal thing, not an ego thing. I think that, honestly, Journey doesn't need to be in the Hall of Fame. With everything we accomplished...we've had our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you know? It's in the hearts of the people out there and their experiences and their memories of what we did together and how we all had the time of our lives with the music that we loved to perform and they loved to hear. I really don't want someone to qualify it any more than that."
